How Different

At this very moment I am staying at the counter in the new apartment stealing internet from one of my fabulous neighbors who does not lock their wireless internet. Thank goodness for me cause I'd be so bored. This last weekend Chad came into town and we found a nice new place. It is bigger than I expected and not very much more than our house in Spokane. We opted out of a house for now because the Seattle area is WAY to expensive woh baby. So we are in a cute place in Everett. It is a 2bed 2 bath apartment 1200 sq ft. Big kitchen (that's my favorite. PLUS it has a master bath that is amazing I am so excited to not have to get up go into the light when I have to pee when I'm on nights I can stay in the dark and not confuse my body.

Anyways I'm staying here now sleeping on an air mattress until we move totally in on June 13th...yay its coming soon. I definitely do not know this area at all and I'm sure I'm going to get lost a million times getting to know the area... oh well! Chad loves getting lost he calls it "exploring"

I have pictures to post from the weekend and more updating to do but that will have to happen soon.

Life is so nuts right now!

Mother's Day Weekend!

I finished up a LONG week at work (I had worked 8 out of 9 days) it sure felt like a lot, and I went down to my Papa's (dad's) for the weekend. Chad was wonderful and came over Thursday night (late), and left this afternoon. Friday was kind of shot for us due to my migraine but I was so glad to have him with me. Yesterday was a great day. My dad made us all breakfast, we went and saw Star Trek, had an amazing dinner, and played yahtzee until 10 with my family. My dad amazed us again with more BBQ. He made pulled pork and a brisket. They cooked for over 12 hours on the traeger grill they were phenomenal. Chad won a cake at safeway from a cake walk. He was so proud. It was German chocolate cake, one of my favorites.
Today we went to my sister's for mother's day lunch. More good food and family time.

Now its back in Redmond for me and Chad is on his way back to Spokane for the start of our weeks. We only have one more month of this living apart stuff we cannot wait for it to be over.

My sister 29 weeks!

Chad and his prized cake!

My dad with his bbq pork... he sure can bbq!

Lincoln's Emergency

NOTE: This story gets a little graphic, so if you get woozy at the mention of blood, stop here.

I took Lincoln to the park yesterday evening. During the course of this visit, Lincoln met a 9 yr old black lab Luther, an extremely cute 7 wk old yellow lab, Fizz (or something like that). He was having a great time running and playing with them. I was just about to take Lincoln home, when I looked over to him and saw that he was bleeding quite profusely from his mouth. I quickly took Lincoln home as soon as I could. When I got home there was plenty blood on the siderails of my truck. I put him in the tub and tried to wash his mouth out and stop the bleeding with a towel. It didn’t take long for me to realize this was more than I could handle. I had to go to the Pet Emergency clinic cause our primary vet’s office was closed as it was past 7 in the evening already. I quickly took Lincoln back outside and loaded him on the truck while on the phone with Jamie, simultaneously. In my haste I managed to lock myself out of my truck and house so I had to quickly improvise a way to get back in the house to retrieve my keys from the bathroom floor. After rushing him to the clinic, they took his temperature from his butt (glad I'm not a dog) and found he had a low grade fever. The doctor came in and said he'd have to put Lincoln to sleep to determine the cause of the bleeding. It turns out he managed to completely pierce through his tongue with his tooth. Because the tongue is incredibly vascular, he punctured a blood vessel so that explains why he was bleeding so much. A couple sutures later and he was good to go. He rested his head and paws on my leg on the drive home and was content to lay down in the house. It was a scary evening for a while because I didn’t know if he had swallowed something or had internal bleeding issues. I’ll be watching him still , but I’m very glad it wasn’t worse.

On a happy note, I cooked an amazing chicken breast on the grill tonight and had to post a picture of the perfection of my grill lines :-)
